Monday horse racing tips
- AYR
3.33: Arabian Cobra 13/2 each-way (1pt) - WORCESTER
2.42: No No Maestro 13/2 each-way (1pt)
3.15: Stumps Or Slips 1/1 (1pt)
3.45: Handlethekettle 7/4 (1pt)
Arabian Cobra
Arabian Cobra returned from a short break to go close at 22/1 at Hamilton in May to lose by a head to Lord Roxby.
He then won two in a row, both by a neck at Thirsk and then Chester despite a huge rise in the weights for that first win.
Well he’s only upped 2lb for the latest win and that gives him a huge chance to continue his progression against some older horses having to carry more than the three-year-old.
Can’t see why he’s drifting a touch but it does make him more backable at an each-way price.
No No Maestro
This horse is coming in a bit in the odds as opposed to the tip above.
The ten-year-old trained by Fergal O’Brien has been tipped up before all the way back in 2022.
He’s won just a couple of times since but that also means he’s on a very dangerous mark over fences now.
That nearly worked out for the best over 3m2f at Fontwell last month but was just beaten by Morfee.
He has won at Worcester before and he’s still got a great strike-rate, consistency etc over fences which suggests his 13/2 price is more than worth backing each-way.
I’m A Starman is the favourite after winning four in a row over hurdles but returns to fences for the first time since May 2023 and that could be tough for the 12-year-old.
Stumps Or Slips
Strong favourite for trainer Olly Murphy and the usual winning combination with jockey Sean Bowen.
This horse is on track for a four-timer this season alone, winning at Ffos Las, Perth and then Uttoxeter last month.
Waited with until getting another good opportunity over another 2m4f trip and this seems to be the one.
Only upped 4lb for his latest success and there’s definitely room for more based on his progression already.
Handlethekettle
Ukantango was behind Handlethekettle last time out under Bowen for trainer Murphy over course and distance.
There’s a 6lb change in that match-up though so he’s got a great chance to reverse that form.
Especially on what will be his second run since his wind op in May, which can often lead to further progression.
That procedure does seem to have worked well as he was far off the pace at Warwick in May and was actually a very decent third place behind Glory And Fortune off 6lb higher in April.
Handlethekettle did win with plenty in hand over Ukantango though so the rise in the weights may not effect him enough.
He’s 3-5 over hurdles now and I can’t see him get caught this time either.
