Indiana Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton and Girlfriend Jade Jones Are Engaged

Tyrese Haliburton and Jade Jones are ready to take the next big step in their relationship: they’re engaged!
Haliburton, 25, and Jones met as college students at Iowa State University, so it only made sense for the Indiana Pacers star to arrange the proposal at the school. Despite the season-ending injury he suffered during Game 7 of the NBA Finals this year, Haliburton dropped to one knee at the Hilton Coliseum in front of giant letters that spelled out, “Will You Marry Me?”
The pair shared a joint post via Instagram of photos from the proposal on Monday, July 28. In the first, Jones is seen holding her face as Haliburton kneels in front of her. Another photo features both Jones and Haliburton in front of an Iowa State University sign, with the engagement ring prominently displayed.
“The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins,” Haliburton captioned the carousel of images. “Future Mrs. What the Hali
,” Jones commented.

The pair met when they were both athletes at the school — Haliburton played basketball, and Jones was a cheerleader. They began dating in April 2019, and celebrated their sixth anniversary in April 2025.
“6 whole years of loving you Every single day you continue to amaze me!! You make this world shine so incredibly bright and I’m so lucky to spend life by your side,” Jones wrote via Instagram in honor of the milestone. “You are so special to me, our love is one in a million- My best friend forever & ever!! I love you
.”
Jones is a regular fixture at Haliburton’s games for the Pacers, and she was on hand throughout the team’s playoffs ride this season. In May of this year, Jones shared a series of photos that showed herself and Haliburton on the court via Instagram. She captioned the snaps, “go NY go NY go… Home!!! #YESCERSSS So proud of this team!!! .”
Haliburton and Jones have also taken another important first step together: they added their dog, Ames, to the family when the basketball star was a rookie for the Sacramento Kings. In August 2024 Haliburton posed for a photo shoot with Ames — and his gold medal from the 2024 Olympic Games.
While speaking to FanDuel Sports Network Indiana in March 2023, Haliburton explained that Ames is very special to the duo. “My dog doesn’t know how good or bad I play, he’s just happy to see me,” he said. “So I enjoy having one person in my life who no matter how I play they’re going to greet me the same way every day.”
