Chelsea head into their Club World Cup semi final as odds on favourites for victory as they bid to be crowned champions of the world for the second time in their history.
Enzo Maresca’s side booked their place in the last four with a 2-1 win over Palmeiras, another Brazilian side, aided by an 83rd minute own goal, which followed their 4-1 extra time victory over Benfica in the second round.

Fluminense are another side who have reached the semi final of the competition despite finishing second in their group behind Borussia Dortmund, winning only one of their three Group F matches having also played out a goalless draw against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The Brazilian side, managed by former Roma winger Renato Gaucho, have upset the odds in both of their knockout stage matches, beating Italian giants Juventus in the Round of 16 before getting the better of Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in the last eight.
The Rio de Janeiro side are currently in the middle of their season, and currently find themselves 11 matches unbeaten in all competitions, and will fancy their chances at upsetting the odds to beat Chelsea and reaching their second consecutive Club World Cup final after losing 4-0 to Manchester City in the most recent edition of the tournament in 2023.
