Young and the Restless' Cricket and Danny Are Getting Engaged Again

The Young and the Restless fans have something to swoon about because Christine “Cricket” Blair and Danny Romalotti are finally getting engaged.
“We were super, super excited,” Lauralee Bell, who plays Cricket, told People in an interview published on Wednesday, July 9. “It’s been 35 years in the making.”
Danny (Michael Damian) is due to pop the question to his onscreen partner during the Thursday, July 10, episode of the long-running soap opera.
Cricket and Danny first connected when a then-teenage Cricket had a crush on Danny. They started dating, eventually getting married in Hawaii in a 1990 episode. Their marriage, however, ended after Danny slept with a fan, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who gave birth to his son, Daniel. (Danny later learned that he is not Daniel’s biological father.)

Decades later, Cricket and Danny found their way back together in a story line that likely excites OG show fans.
“We were a part of that time for them, and now here we are coming back into their lives when maybe their kids are now moved out or at college or whatever,” Bell, 56, told People. “We’re reminiscent of those fun days where we all feel like we’re still young and we’d give anything to go back to that time. So, we’re just very grateful that that group has stuck with us and is going to be so excited.”
Damian, 63, also theorized how YATR fans will react when they see Danny pop the question.
“I think the nostalgia is really beautiful and that’s what they’re connecting to as well,” Damian quipped of the viewers. “I think that they’re like, ‘Oh, my God, finally.’”
While both Damian and Bell teased that their characters’ second wedding would be seen onscreen, they played coy about the details.
“It’s fun because I can imagine that there will be six people there or maybe half the cast. I have no idea,” she joked in Wednesday’s profile. “I would hope for the people who’ve been waiting for the wedding that [Phyllis] will obviously be scheming something, but that nothing affects the actual ‘I do.’”

Damian, however, speculates that “something is going to happen” when Cricket and Danny make it back down the aisle.
Bell previously spoke to Us Weekly about Cricket and Danny’s evolution since their first marriage. (In 2024, Cricket put her law career on hold to support Danny’s world tour.)
“Cricket is being a free spirit, she’s usually very regimented,” Bell exclusively told Us in June 2024. “She knows if she didn’t take this opportunity now, she wouldn’t ever do it. This is their time.”
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
