Floyd Mayweather opens new feud with Roy Jones Jr in brutal video and fans left confused

Floyd Mayweather has left fans bewildered after igniting a feud with Roy Jones Jr.

Mayweather is still permanently embedded in the boxing world despite retiring from the professional ranks with a perfect 50-0 record in 2017 after beating Conor McGregor.

Mayweather mocked Jones Jr by watching videos of his KO defeats

During his time in the limelight, the American icon has drawn rivalries with many fighters including Manny Pacquiao and even YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

But a surprising new feud has opened up with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr.

‘Superman’ suggested that Mayweather wouldn’t have beaten prime Sugar Ray Leonard in a recent interview when predicting the fantasy fight.

And incredibly Mayweather decided to hit back in the only way the boxing fraternity knew he would.

The American produced a cold response, sitting in front of his TV while watching videos of Jones Jr being knocked out in his career.

Footage included his stoppage defeats to Antonio Tarver, Glen Johnson, Danny Green, and Enzo Maccarinelli.

Mayweather in response simply sat in silence, and fans initially were very confused by the videos.

“Lol what is this? Is he watching tape for an exhibition?,” one wrote.

Another agreed: “Lmfao Floyd hella funny. Roy’s statement still valid though. Everyone’s great in their own right I guess.”

A fan even added: “This is hilariously petty, why is he doing this?”

One viewer even spotted: “He missed some, but wow that’s a seriously dedicated hate watch.”

A final user concluded: “Settle your beef, exhibition. Yes there’s weight classes for a reason but imagine.”

Of course, a fight between Mayweather and Jones Jr is impossible due to their size difference and status as both retired.

Boxers often offend each other beyond their careers, particularly in debates regarding the all-time greats.

Jones Jr clearly favours the previous era of fighters, an era in which he was more directly involved.

And he was quick to clear up that there was no malice in his comments, simply preferring the skillset of Leonard.

“If you gonna let him [Mayweather] move around you, he’ll beat you. Because he’s very explosive, very mean.,” he said.

“People always say, ‘Floyd would beat Sugar’. No baby, Floyd is not as mean as Sugar was. How he gonna keep him off him?

“For me, I like Floyd and Floyd was cool, but it’s like, it’s gonna be hard. For me to go and beat Sugar, they would have had to do something different, that’s for sure.

“We think Floyd got one, we don’t know. We’ve never seen him challenged. We know Sugar’s got one.”
