FIFA Club World Cup 2025 top scorer prediction, odds and betting tips

The expanded Club World Cup is hurtling towards its grand finale, with the remaining four teams readying themselves for the semi-finals.
The battle for the trophy is the main event, but it will also be intriguing to watch the race to finish as the tournament’s top scorer.
With only three more games to be played, the hot favourite for the award is a Real Madrid attacker, but it is not Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior or Jude Bellingham.
Gonzalo García, off the back of a 25-goal season in the Spanish third tier with Real Madrid Castilla (Real’s B team), has grabbed his chance to impress this summer with both hands and is on 4 goals for the tournament alongside three other players.
The other three – Ángel Di María, Serhou Guirassy and Marcos Leonardo – won’t be able to add to their tally with their teams all having been eliminated. According to FIFA, assists are the tie-breaker in the event of multiple players finishing on the same number of goals.
With García having also been credited with one assist and none of these three ending up with any, it seems as though the Spanish striker is clear of the rest. Of those still in the competition, only Pedro Neto has a realistic chance of leapfrogging him.

Club World Cup Top Scorer – Favourites
Gonzalo García
You’d have probably got long odds on the relatively unknown García leading the Los Blancos charge at the Club World Cup, ahead of Vincius Junior et al. The 21-year-old, however, who only has five La Liga appearances for the senior side to his name, has looked the part amongst all the established stars.
García would’ve come into this summer brimming with confidence after scoring 25 goals for Real Madrid’s B team – Real Madrid Castilla – last season – and he’s found the net four times in five games here, including the crucial winner against Juventus in the last 16.
As the only man on 4 goals still playing in the tournament as it heads into its last few days, time is running out for anyone else to overtake him. As it stands, García holds the tie breaker ahead of Ángel Di María, Marcos Leonardo and Serhou Guirassy due to also having one assist.
Pedro Neto is only one goal behind, but is also one assist behind. That means, to jump ahead of García, he’d need to score two goals in the semi-final and/or final or come up with one goal and two assists – and García be held without any further goal contributions.
Tip Gonzalo García to finish the tournament as top scorer at 7/5 with Spreadex
Pedro Neto
The Portuguese winger is still involved with Chelsea, and will be expected to play two more games what with the West Londoners facing the only non-European side left – Fluminense – in the semi-finals.
Neto bagged one of the three extra time goals which got Chelsea over the line against Benfica in the last 16, adding to his strikes against Los Angeles FC and Flamengo.
He has never been prolific. In fact, he’s usually more of a provider. Chelsea spent £54m on him following a season of 12 Premier League assists for Wolves. He hasn’t yet created a goal for a teammate this summer, however.
If he were to take home the Golden Boot, it is quite likely his team will also be crowned world champions.
Back Pedro Neto to top the scoring charts at the CWC top scorer at 9/1 with SBK
Kylian Mbappé
Real Madrid have been largely without the French superstar this summer after he was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. Even in his limited minutes, however, he has still gotten on the scoresheet – adding the third late on against Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals.
As he is regarded as one of the best players in the world, bookies are still offering a price – of around 40/1 in most places – of him somehow stealing the award off of teammate García.
We are talking about one of only two men to score a hat trick in a World Cup final though – if anyone can pull it off, he most certainly can.
Back Kylian Mbappé to make a late run at the Golden Boot at 40/1 with Tote
Jude Bellingham & Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
These two are both in a similar position to Mbappé – both on one goal and therefore needing to produce one, or two, of the best games of their careers to make the Golden Boot race interesting.
PSG’s Georgian winger would seem to have the slight advantage having contributed two assists to Bellingham’s one (and García’s one, should it come to it).
These two will also face each other in the semi-finals, so backing either only makes sense if you believe their team will also reach the final (and win it).
Tip Jude Bellingham or Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to win the CWC Golden Boot at 50/1 with Spreadex
Club World Cup Top Scorer – The ‘Nearly’ Men
Ángel Di María
The outgoing Benfica winger is still being backed at 4/1 at most bookies despite As Águias’ elimination in the last 16.
Di María scored his four goals in four games – a better ratio than Marcos Leonardo and Serhou Guirassy managed.
That extra time defeat to the Londoners was Di María’s last game for As Águias before heading home to boyhood club Rosario Central.
Marcos Leonardo
Al-Hilal’s run to the quarter-finals was made all the more impressive given they were without prolific marksman Aleksandar Mitrović. In his absence, 22-year-old Brazilian Marcos Leonardo really stepped up.
Leonardo only finished a couple of goals behind the Serbian striker in his debut season since joining from Benfica, with 17 strikes in 24 Saudi Pro League games. His winner against Manchester City will likely live on as the most famous moment in Saudi and Asian club football for many years.
He found the net again against Fluminense, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his team’s elimination. Leonardo, like Di María, exits the tournament on four goals.
Serhou Guirassy
There have been fewer deadlier strikers on the planet than Serhou Guirassy over the past two seasons.
After a remarkable 28 goals in 28 games for Stuttgart in 2023/24, Dortmund stumped up €18m to bring the Guinean to the Signal Iduna Park last summer. It has proven to be one of the bargains of the last few years as Guirassy continued right from where he left off with a further 21 Bundesliga goals but also 13 in the Champions League – splitting the Golden Boot with Barcelona’s Raphinha.
It took Guirassy, and BVB, a little time to start firing in the States but after three goals in two knockout games, he too finishes the tournament with four strikes.
